Ashley Webb shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Ashley , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, I’m a mom to three wonderful little ones, and most of my joy comes from time with them and my husband. I feel really grateful to have a career I love while also getting to enjoy the beautiful family life we’ve built together. They’re truly at the heart of everything I do.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ashley Webb, and I’m the owner of Boho Babes, a hair and makeup company specializing in creating effortless, elevated looks for weddings and special events. With a talented team by my side, we’re able to accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to large bridal parties.
Our focus is on enhancing natural beauty, we offer both traditional and airbrush makeup for all skin tones, specializing in soft glam and the ever-popular ‘no-makeup’ makeup look. On the hair side, we’re known for boho-inspired styling, Hollywood waves, and working confidently with all hair textures, including natural curls. I especially love incorporating flowers and unique details into hairstyles, turning them into true works of art.
With over 10 years in the beauty industry, I have a special passion for weddings. From the very first inquiry through the walk down the aisle, I make it a priority to provide fast communication, thoughtful consultations, and customized timelines so that every bride feels stress-free, cared for, and radiant on her big day. We also offer curated packages and luxury add-ons to ensure your experience feels as seamless and special as possible.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband has always seen my full potential long before I could recognize it myself. He’s been my biggest supporter and motivator since we were high school sweethearts over a decade ago. He encouraged me to pursue cosmetology when he noticed my passion for makeup, and later pushed me to take the leap and start my own company after years of working for others. During those early days, he worked overtime to help support us while I built my business into what it is today. Even now, he continues to challenge me with ‘what’s next’- always encouraging me to dream bigger and keep growing. What that next step is, you’ll just have to wait and see.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to keep going, even when things feel tough. The dreams you have really will come true. Don’t let fear hold you back- trust God, trust yourself, and have faith in the process.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the beauty industry is that there’s a one-size-fits-all standard of beauty. The truth is, every client is unique, with different skin tones, hair textures, and personal styles and that should be celebrated, not minimized. Another misconception is that trends or heavy glam are the only way to achieve a ‘special occasion’ look. In reality, natural, effortless styles can be just as impactful and timeless. I’ve built my brand on enhancing what’s already there- bringing out someone’s best features and honoring their individuality rather than masking it. Beauty should feel personal, not forced.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What light inside you have you been dimming?
I’ve realized I’ve been holding back my passion for teaching. I’d love to create a space where I can help new artists in the beauty industry—not just with makeup and hair skills, but also how to build and market their own business. I want to show them what to avoid, share the lessons I’ve learned, and give them the confidence to succeed without getting taken advantage of. It’s really about helping the next generation of artists find their path and thrive.
