Chuck Arakelian shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Chuck, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
I’m constantly learning and growing thanks to the guidance of my mentors and the valuable feedback from my customer base. My mentors serve as my sounding board—always offering thoughtful advice and constructive criticism that help me improve. At the same time, I actively seek feedback from my customers, and they consistently provide fresh ideas and insights. Simply put, my business wouldn’t be where it is today without the support and input from both my mentors and my amazing customers.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Born and raised in Boston, MA, I launched this brand in 2019 out of a love for both hats and sports. As I got older, I found myself moving away from wearing jerseys, but I still wanted to rep my favorite players and teams. That’s when the idea hit me: Why not design a hat that captures the spirit of a jersey?
What started as a few custom designs featuring some of Boston’s most iconic athletes quickly gained traction — even catching the eyes of the players themselves. Before long, professional athletes were not only reaching out for hats but proudly wearing them on and off the field.
Since then, ChucksBuckets has been worn by dozens of pro athletes, featured on national television, and even made appearances at the Stanley Cup Finals. And the best part? We’re just getting started.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
I learned the value of hard work at a young age. Whether it was working side by side with my grandfather and witnessing firsthand what true dedication looks like, or hearing my dad head out the door at 5 a.m. — even on weekends — I grew up surrounded by examples of relentless commitment.
That work ethic was instilled in me early, and it’s played a huge role in shaping who I am today. I wouldn’t be where I am without it.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
From a young age, I’ve always seen myself as a leader — not necessarily the loudest voice in the room, but someone others could count on. I may not remember the last time I truly felt heard, but I’ve always been the one people turn to. Whether it’s friends or family, I’ve been that steady presence — someone they can trust, confide in, and lean on when it matters most.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
If you asked my closest friends, they’d tell you that what matters most to me is loyalty and kindness. I believe those are two of the most important qualities a person can have, and I take pride in living by both every day.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I only had 10 years left, I’d stop stressing over the small things and let go of what’s out of my control. I catch myself doing both far too often, and I know it only holds me back — distracting me from what truly matters and what I can change.
