Rising Stars: Meet Joshua Linney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Linney. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Joshua David Linney is a Florida native, and US Army Veteran, who served in Operation Vigilant Warrior. After service, he graduated with Bachelor’s from UCF in Digital Media. He fought addiction to VA prescriptions for 20 years, ending his pharmaceutical dependence in 2017 after finding CBD and medical cannabis. He now serves the local community as founder and chairman of, Carma Corps, a 501c3 nonprofit helping Veterans to live independently and be self-sufficient cultivating hemp and medicinal plants. Their startup mentoring program empowers Veterans to become employers, not employees, as entrepreneurs and small business owners

He’s an advocate and ambassador with VUE Change, Veterans For Cannabis, and VFC.Foundation. VFCF programs include education, certifications, and career training for Veteran entrepreneurship in the cannabis industry, like the VFCUSA product line and other business ownership opportunities.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I am a medically discharged Veteran who suffers from multiple chronic conditions. I was forced into pharmaceutical dependence by the VA in 1998 and struggled with 20 years of addiction because of it. After a long battle with dependence, I started using CBD in 2017, after 6 weeks I ended my 20 years of addiction to Xanax. Two months later, I began medical cannabis and ended a 20 addiction to opiates in less than 90 days. Cannabis absolutely saved my life and I want to share my story.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
