Today we’d like to introduce you to Janique Abrahams.
Hi Janique, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I began as a ceramic and mixed media artist. After moving to the US, I didn’t have the space or time to do either, and that’s when I started dabbling in resin art. It has been almost a year now since I started doing resin art.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Before starting, I did some research that proved helpful as the road has been somewhat smooth so far. I’m still improving every day, and learning how to fine-tune the pieces has been a rewarding process.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
As I stated before, I am currently a resin art. I am still trying to find my niche; however, my Seaside Vibez tray has to be one of my favorite pieces. I am most proud of the progress that I’ve made in less than a year. What sets Shappening Art apart is trying my best to create affordable quality products.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think my progress thus far has been because I am adaptable and curious. I also want to try new art forms. I want to know the ‘why, what, how, when, and who as it relates to art.
