Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Goodwin.
Hi Alyssa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I decided to attend the University of Tampa as a senior in high school. I am originally from Wilmington, Delaware. I knew I wanted to live in a city and be somewhere warm. Coming to Tampa has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Coming to a university from so far away had its challenges. It was overwhelming at times to be meeting so many people and being so far away from home.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
After my first semester of college, I decided to create an Instagram page to share recipes and food I enjoy. I had been thinking about it for a while, but I finally created an account in November of 2020. I am most proud of my restaurant posts because restaurants have reposted my photos. The restaurants are using my photos and posts to get more people into their restaurants and it makes me feel good.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think there will be more health and wellness influencers in the next 5-10 years. Since Covid, I feel that everyone is more concerned with their health – whether it be nutrition, fitness, spirituality, or mental health. I think health and wellness influencers have recently shifted their mindset to a more balanced lifestyle. Instead of seeing people only promoting eating super healthy and exercising constantly, they are including fried foods, alcohol, and treats in moderation. I think this is a much healthier lifestyle to share with others.
