Today we’d like to introduce you to Shorne Callahan.
Shorne, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started when I was 5 years old when it knew I love music. I played the drums at my church and was in band my whole life through high school. I started playing keys and creating beats in my jr year of high school on my Casio keyboard. I didn’t started in music when I went to college. I started in animation because I was an artist as well. My parents wanted me to do that because the possibility of going to Disney to animate.
However, a new BA in recording arts started and I moved over to Recording Arts and that’s how it all began with producing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Wasn’t a smooth road. First thing that started is that me making my own decisions on doing music instead of art wasn’t an easy thing because I was a person that always wanted to strive to make my parents proud. When I made a decision of living my life that was the hardest decision at the time to make. Also, just in the music industry, it’s not easy to get in so there’s an always sense of hope to make it! It’s always been a “almost there” with a music production group I was in. We got a glimpse
Of what it will be, however our first placement we got screwed over with a contract we was offered. At the time we was green and they knew it.
In a moment in time, I was homeless. Staying at friend’s house because I was making enough income to live in my own.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My main work is producing/ creating music for artist, commercials, television, movies, scoring, etc. I specialize in bringing the best out of people I work with in music. My view on music is that it’s a vehicle or bridge to bring hope in life. Looking at life with the glass half full no matter what life brings our way!
I’m most proud of several moments in my music. My first album I created was a big moment for me. The album called “Master Builder”
The album was about being a master at building people up and not tearing them down. I was amazed how many people was impacted by that. I also had my first album release party/ charity event. I was able to give back to community and partnering with Embracing Legacy from Revealing Truth Ministries to do so.
Next my second is created my first music for a documentary movie because of Sam. I had the honors scoring and creating a soundtrack for this powerful movie. By my good friend Renee Warmack.
Creating original music for my church Revealing Truth Ministries. It was an honor being a part of creating the sound that will reach people around the world.
Another big moment was my latest album “Masterpiece”
I colab with local artist that was great in their craft to create a masterpiece of work to impact people in a positive way. This album I wanted to shared through my music that you should look at yourself as masterpieces. You are unique and wonderfully made by God. Be the best you you could be.
With this album I was able to partner with Titus O’Neil with his foundation The Bullard Family Foundation to give back to the community.
My latest success I made my first place long with Joshua “Saint Rene” Cruz on the hit tv show The Game on Paramount plus. With our single “U Could B the One”
I believe what sets me apart is my sound with my roots I’m Caribbean (Trinidadian). I developed a signature style characterized by an assortment of genres, widely known as fusion, while crossing cultural lines.
