Meet Khalea Lynee’

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khalea Lynee’.

Hi Khalea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story is probably similar to that of a lot of musical artists… I grew up singing in the church, a PK (my mother was a pastor). I’ve been singing for the majority of my life, since around the age of 11 or 12. Music is something that I’m wholeheartedly passionate about & the road to becoming a full-time artist has not been easy. But it’s a journey that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Challenges are something I face daily, as do most artists. But those challenges are typically lessons that I needed to learn anyway. Challenges, in my opinion, are only there to make you stronger and more experienced.

There are definitely times when things run perfectly smoothly, but there are also times when the road can be a bit bumpy. You just have to learn how to take the good with the bad. I’ve faced the challenge of not fully believing in myself, thinking that my music & what I have to offer isn’t good enough, the challenge of knowing which opportunities I should take & which ones I should pass up, which individuals I should work with & which ones it’s best I stay away from… the list goes on.

But when you consistently work at your craft & have the uncontrollable desire to succeed, big challenges can become small hurdles to get over. I’m thankful for all the things I’ve had to face along this journey of artistry. They’ve all shown me what I’m truly capable of.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I take what I do seriously & I strive for excellence. Being a full-time artist is something I’ve always strived towards because I know without a doubt that it’s what I’m on this earth to do. So because I know that, I’m going to always pursue it with everything I’ve got.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
To me, happiness is knowing your purpose in life. When you know that & when you submit to it instead of second-guessing yourself, everything else just seems to fall into place.

People, places, and things can’t MAKE you happy. They may contribute to it, but happiness is an inside job. It’s personal. When you have inner peace is when happiness just naturally occurs.
