Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Steele.
Hi Jaclyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Although most nurses start off in the hospital, including myself, I knew that was not my goal. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the hospital setting and the rush that came with it, but I had a different plan for myself. My husband and I wanted a large family and needed a little more consistency in our lives. This decision led me to seek out positions that leaned more towards an outpatient setting. While I attended NP school, I had the opportunity to participate in a dermatology rotation. During that rotation, I fell in love with the field and landed my first position shortly after graduation. I quickly realized how much I gravitated towards the aesthetics side of the field and from then on, my passion blossomed. Years and four kids later, I still love every minute of what I do and am blessed to be where I am today. I continue to educate myself, keep up with the ever-changing industry and try to provide the best care and service to my patients possible.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with anything in life, there are ups and downs. Therefore, of course, there were struggles along the way. However, I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t push through the hard times, learn from them, and then use what I have learned to better myself and my career. I have always tried to look at my career progress by taking a step back, looking at how far I have come, evaluating the hardships and improving myself and the decisions I make as I move forward in my career and in life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Marcadis Watt Plastic Surgery, I am one of their Nurse Practitioners (@npsteele_aesthetics). I specialize in procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, PDO threads, Sculptra, Kybella, PRF, Vivace, and a variety of laser services. I have always been a hard worker and a determined individual, so I love the challenges every face brings. I’m a perfectionist at heart, and I pride myself on continuing education so I can provide my patients with the best techniques, results, and service that I could possibly offer. I also deeply enjoy the connections I make with each patient individually, which makes working in this industry and for Marcadis Watt Plastic Surgery so enjoyable. I am a very natural injector, and I love how each patient is so different and beautiful in their own way. I never want to change that. I want to naturally enhance what each patient already has, so they see and feel just how beautiful they are. This all starts by providing them with a complimentary consultation where I take the time to properly educate them, and together we come up with a strategic plan, according to their needs, in order to achieve their desired results.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being true to myself and having high morals and values really have driven my success. People like real people. I am just a person, and I treat my patients how I would want to be treated if the roles were reversed. I try and think positive, have goals in mind, and learn and push through hardships.
