Life & Work with Sean Bakhtiari

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Bakhtiari.

Hi Sean, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a real estate agent, investor and vacation rental expert. I was named by Real Producers Magazine as the region’s “Rising Star”⭐ and “Top Agent in the North Shore. I’m also the Founder and Co-Owner of Seacoast Vacation Rentals (, a premier short-term rental provider, and a Realtor with Fruh Realty where I help buyers, sellers and investors get the best possible deals in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Florida and South Carolina.

Prior to real estate, I worked full time for ten years at an investment management firm in Boston’s financial district. My love for real estate began when I purchased my first AirBnB investment in 2017. I now own six properties (four of which are AirBnB rentals), and I’m aiming to continue to invest in South West Florida, the Carolinas and New England’s coastal communities.

Enhancing the real estate experience for my clients is my top priority, as evident by my 100% client satisfaction record and ever-growing collection 5-star reviews. When people work with me, they can expect the exceptional service, guidance, attention, knowledge and resources that they deserve to accomplish their real estate goals. I remain dedicated to the same principles that I’ve valued my whole life — dependable, trustworthy, professional, responsive and results-oriented. Bottom line, my clients are always my top priority.

In addition to real estate, I enjoy sipping a quality cup of hot coffee, reading, traveling, working out, soccer, family time, hanging out with friends and my two dogs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
NO road to success is ever 100% smooth. The biggest obstacles I’ve encounters have been time management. I’m the type of person who commits 100% when I start a new endeavor. This can have its blessings and its curses. As a proud father of two beautiful twin girls, I always need to remind myself to shut down, slow down every once in a while, and enjoy the precious moments with my family. Another challenge in this real estate market is simply the lack of inventory. It’s a VERY competitive time to be a buyer with rates rising and inventory remaining at historically low levels. This makes it more important than ever for buyers/investors/sellers to work with a trusted, skilled and reputable Realtor.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Gosh, this is a tough questions… I guess I’m most known as being a thought leader in the short-term rental (AKA AirBnB or vacation rental space). Short-term rentals are quickly becoming more and more popular with the growth of platforms like AirBnB and VRBO. The recent COVID pandemic also increased the demand for clean and unique furnished vacation rentals. I love vacationing myself, I love providing amazing vacation experiences, and I love investing in real estate. So I guess I’m most proud of the AirBnB properties that I own myself, manage for others, and help investors purchase themselves.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
This is simple, I have two words of wisdom:

(1) Make it a priority to attend six local networking events per year (one every other month). It sounds simple, but most people shy away from networking events.

(2) follow people you admire on social media. Preferably someone close to where you live. Once you’ve established a connection reach out and offer them coffee, lunch, etc. in exchange for picking their brain.

… Here is a 3rd bonus option: host a local networking event yourself. You will be seen as a local thought leader.
