Inspiring Conversations with Joey Lowery of Media Shark

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joey Lowery. 

Hi Joey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Media Shark was founded around 3 years ago after I was fired from a company for bringing up ethical issues and problems with they way I thought we were doing business. I come from a background where my dad is an exoneree and did 10 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. He turned 20 years of hell into a very moving and impactful story. Being raised by someone who had been through so much adversity and struggle made me feel like I had to start my own company and stand up to people like my previous company. 

Media Shark started with one goal in mind… Become a digital marketing agency that drives real results and offers real solutions to problems. Within 1 year of starting Media Shark, I’ve brought on clients as large as Sprint to your locally owned business. 

We focus on driving highly targeted traffic that our clients need to gain the sales and leads they need to grow their business. 

Here is his story: 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Becoming a small business owner at the age of 28 hasn’t been easy at all. From learning how to manage employees to staying up to date with the ever-changing digital marketing landscape. We handle programmatic advertising, which is the automation of buying and selling digital ad space in real-time. 

We really have to stay on top of what Google is doing and the other large data providers. Our job really is to focus/understand how to get people online to convert digitally. Creating ads that speak to an online audience that makes that person want/need a service or product… def isn’t easy at all. It’s a weird job learning how to influence people digitally. 

As you know, we’re big fans of Media Shark. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Media Shark is a behavioral targeting digital marketing agency. Which means that we use behavioral data to place highly targeted ads to a specific online audience. One of the top things that sets media shark apart from other agencies is that we have access to over 90% of the internet and we only use the marketing budget if someone clicks or engages with our ads 

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Well, I was fired for what I believe was finding out ethical issues and bringing it up. I then proceed over the coming months to start my own agency and become a competitor. I’m now a head competitor to that company.
