Hidden Gems: Meet Dian Williamson of Becoming The Woman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dian Williamson.

Hi Dian, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up on the beautiful island of Nassau in The Bahamas. Things was much simpler back then. I started working at age 13 part-time in a photo place and as a result, the hustle in me began! I paid my way through a two years college right out of high school. Things was more affordable back then compared to now.

I grew up in church and around family, so that has definitely contributed to the woman I am today. I am an only child, lost my dad at the age of 8 and so my mother has been my everything!!!! Literally……

I’ve worked in corporate Bahamas and in the hospitality industry for over 14 years collectively. I’ve lived in New York & Georgia for a bit before moving to Florida in 2018. I am married and we have three amazing children together.

Currently, I am involved with & donate to many charitable organizations, namely One Heart For Women and Children, Pace Center For Girls, Helping Hand Community Outreach, Family Promise of Greater Orlando, American Breast Cancer Association and The Cancer Society of The Bahamas. I enjoy giving back to the community. I actually prepare meals once a month for displaced families through one of the organizations. I also proudly represent my country (unofficially) at various events in Florida.

Aside from the charity work I do, I am a Florida Notary and I’m employed seasonally with H & R Block as an Associate Team Leader. Additionally, I have a small Women’s Boutique called “Becoming The Woman Boutique” and I also have a women’s empowerment blog called “Becoming The Woman God Designed You To Be” where we encourage women to become the best versions of themselves through God.

As if that isn’t enough….. I am also a pageant girl! I am the current Ms. Florida Elite Heart of The USA and the Brand Ambassadors for Ms./Mrs. Corporate America.

To sum Dian up in one word would be impossible….. because I am so much!

I will say that first and foremost, I am a child of God before anything else.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My journey has had its share of issues like any other woman. Growing up without my father was a huge hurdle for me and even today, I still think of him and the relationship we would have had.

I’ve also experienced many many heartbreaks and let downs by people I’ve trusted and loved. When I love, I love hard.

….not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Becoming The Woman?
I have an empowerment blog/movement that was founded in March 2019. My blog can be found on Facebook and Instagram and also my website. The blog has videos, testimonials and different things that aim to empower and encourage women on their faith journey. One of my favorite things is the “Women of the Bible Series” where we studied ten amazing women in the Bible and learnt about who they was during bible times. There is also a great “Seven Day video Affirmation Series” put together by the women in the movement. You can find information on love, life, death, divorce, faith, self-care and so much more.

Secondly, I’d like to share my business with you. Located in Deltona Florida, I currently have online Women’s Boutique of which I plan to move into a storefront very soon. I sell women’s casual and formal clothing and accessories. I do private shopping experiences where I come to the client with a few pieces of clothing & wine of course ☺️, what’s shopping without a glass of bubbly… I also do a number of pop-up shops in Florida throughout the year, so look out for me in a city near you!

My clothing is beautiful, unique & super affordable! I also cater to small wedding parties.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Oddly enough, one of my favorite books is “Becoming” by Michelle Obama. It came out in 2020 and my blog started in March of 2019. My husband bought it as a gift for me. I also like anything by Sarah Jakes-Roberts and Joel Osteen. As far as podcasts go, I actually did a few podcast episodes that can be found on my Facebook blog page.
