Hidden Gems: Meet Ashly Guernaccini of atCause Law Office

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashly Guernaccini.

Hi Ashly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I moved to Clearwater from Santa Cruz, California in July of 2019 where I was working for almost a decade for a large corporation with various legal needs. Although I greatly valued the extensive exposure to the various legal issues and solutions that this type of work afforded me, I couldn’t help but feel that my true purpose in becoming a lawyer wasn’t being met. So, in May of 2020, immediately after receiving my Florida Bar Exam results, I decided to open atCause Law Office, a progressive type of law firm engaging in solely flat fee billing, and offering a wide variety of legal services to assist both companies and individuals alike. I wanted to reach more people and business, help them expand, and remove any terror or feeling of overwhelm that they had regarding the law and how to operate properly within its boundaries while not stopping or slowing down their expansion or personal growth.

This last year and a half atCause has grown exponentially reaching and helping more people and business than I ever would have imagined. We are even adding a title company to the business this year! It has been the most hardworking and cherished time of my life. I truly love what I do, value and respect our clients and employees, and am incredibly excited for the future.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been smooth, but more and more rewarding with each barrier that was overcome. Being an attorney has it own set of challenges. Add to that being a new business owner who opened her doors in the height of the Covid 19 scare resulted in some unique challenges to say the least. Thankfully my team is both brilliant and supportive. We applied to our business what we do for our clients, and found unique and workable solutions to each and every “problem”. This made us even stronger as a group, and, if anything, I appreciate the struggles most of all as it makes where we are now and where we’re going that much more worth it.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
atCause Law Office focuses on business law, residential and commercial real estate transactions, intellectual property protection, estate planning, and probate. We have a growing team who is eager to service our clients providing legal assistance that makes sense to not just the attorneys. We pride ourselves on our level of communication.

When it comes to communication our motto is simple: MAKE IT CLEAR AND MAKE IT FAST. The legal system is filled with words and phrases that are hard to understand, and it routinely confuses even the most everyone regardless of education. The reason for such complexity is for another time and place, but we are here to tell our clients that it doesn’t have to be that way. Simplicity is at the forefront of our minds when we communicate, and efficiency and results go hand in hand with this.

We realize that most individuals and business owners aren’t attorneys, and because the law is sometimes confusing and obscure, it is easy to overlook things that may operate as an unknown trap. Business owners and individuals alike need to be able to maintain control over their daily transactions and future plans, and atCAUSE Law Office wants to help them get there where they want to be and beyond.

Simply put, our purpose is to make our clients “at cause” over their legal situations and estate planning, empowering them to run their businesses and their life the right way and without needless worry or stress.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My advice would be to connect with local networking groups, or finding individuals through social media who you admire and would want to learn from. I discovered that reaching out through a phone call or short email is often enough to spark relationships with immense value and potential. Don’t be afraid to be the first to reach out or to compliment others for their successes. Most people are thrilled to get the feedback, very supportive, and eager to help others succeed. I received the best advice from my piers simply by asking for it.
