Exploring Life & Business with Julia Wingle of Wingle Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Wingle.

Hi Julia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I graduated in May of 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from USF St. Petersburg. Graduating from college at the start of a pandemic never crossed my mind as a possibility.

There was definitely an adjustment period. As things reopened, I lost one of my part-time jobs and made my other part-time job into a full-time position.

On top of that, I started a ton of “side gigs”. Some of these included finally pursuing my passion as an artist, selling vintage clothing, and working as a freelance digital marketer.

I quickly started to realize that working 5 days a week for someone else was heavily affecting my mental health. Prior to that, I had always split my time between school, multiple jobs, and outside activities. I was craving something more stimulating.

My digital marketing gigs eventually started paying my rent every month. I realized that it was a possibility to make this into a career for myself.

I started taking up mentoring at the St. Pete Greenhouse, joined a local BNI Chapter, and reconnected with artists and musicians who expressed interest in what I was doing.

Eventually, I was able to go back to part-time at my job and commit to digital marketing full time! Wingle Digital was born.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As I mentioned previously, the pandemic was a huge game-changer.

Before the pandemic, I was actually working on opening a music studio with a fellow creative. We had spent over a year creating a business plan, searching for buildings, getting a team together, etc.

Although we decided to put that project aside, it was great to get all of that experience formally creating a business.

There definitely was some heartbreak when we realized the music industry would be hit hard.

Today there is still always a struggle of being so young in the professional world. It took me some time to realize that being a part of Gen Z was actually a selling point for computer-based work. I may be young, but I also grew up with a computer in the palm of my hands.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wingle Digital, LLC?
Wingle Digital provides digital marketing services. This includes social media management, email newsletters, and paid advertising online.

My creativity is definitely what makes my brand stand out. Many digital marketers are very analytical, which I am, but the added creative flair sets me apart from the rest. As an artist, I’m always considering aesthetics alongside written content and strategic planning.

One of the biggest things I hear is that social media wares business owners out. Not only do my services help take the weight off their shoulders, but they also prevent the business owner from wasting time taking a shot in the dark.

Through education and experience, I understand how to get results for clients.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck is a funny thing. I am very lucky when it comes to playing games or winning contests.

In the real world, I attribute a lot of what happens to positivity rather than luck. I believe that putting positive energy is essential to any good outcome.

A positive mindset helps me work harder at my goals and achieve great things!
