Daily Inspiration: Meet Chris Lazorcheck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Lazorcheck. Them and their team share their story with us below:

The Coco Wood Grill is a gastropub concept that caters to foodies in a fun, family-oriented atmosphere.

This concept was developed by the husband & wife team of Chris & Jennifer Lazorcheck through their passion and love of food & social entertaining.

After buying the Old Lobster Pot location in Redington Shore, we wanted to focus on providing the community with a full-service neighborhood restaurant that takes traditional family recipes and puts a twist on them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any project, you must deal with obstacles and or challenges. The first major challenge that we had to overcome was finding a lender who would fund a restaurant project during the darkest time in the history of the hospitality Industry.

With the help and support of our friends and family, we finally found a lender who saw our vision, loved the concept, and believed in us. After securing the funding, and closing on the location and parking lot, the next obstacle that we faced was finding a general contractor. When we started interviewing for a GC, I quickly learned that we were going to have a difficult time.

One interview after another, every General contractor ended with “This project is a total tear down and I can’t help you!” Finally, after many weeks passed, I reached out to a new friend and very successful local restaurant owner for help.

He introduced me to the owner of a Multi-State Construction company who agreed to help me and take on this project. The final challenge was trying to deal with the shortages in the supply chain for materials and equipment.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a successful hospitality professional with over 20+ years of ownership and diverse hospitality experience.

We are proud of so many things but raising three beautiful children in a blended household is something we are most proud of.

What sets us apart from others is our strong work ethic, and our ability to develop staff and connect with people.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We are in new times and it is very difficult to project where the hospitality industry will be in the next 5 to 10 years.
