Conversations with Sarah Linow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Linow.

Hi Sarah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I used to work in the hospitality business and eventually became the owner of a German-French restaurant for many years. After studying European Business Administration and working in management in Berlin, I decided that I most enjoyed organizing weddings. I started my own wedding planning agency in Berlin, Germany over a decade ago (since 2009). My team consists of 5 wedding planners.

Since my sister has been living in Tampa, Florida, for 13 years, we decided to plan weddings in Florida, too. My sister Arwen owns a property management company in Tampa and is used to renovating and decorating places. Transitioning to wedding planning has been easy for her.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We started planning weddings in Florida in 2019 but the pandemic put a hold on our work. It has been a challenge for German couples and their guests to travel abroad and continuously adjust to changing government rules and (travel) regulations.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Our agency is located in Germany, Mallorca (Spanish island), and Florida.

We plan and design weddings for international (oder American) couples in Berlin and destination weddings for Germans in Mallorca and Florida.

In addition to our wedding planning service that we offer in-person or remotely, our German podcast “Hochzeits-Podcast von Sarah & Hung” provides free tangible advice on topics all around your wedding.

Our practical book, “Lisa und die schoenste Hochzeit aller Zeiten” (Lisa and the most beautiful Wedding of all times), also provides wedding planning instructions for all budgets.

Lastly, we offer seminars/classes to wedding planners in Berlin, Germany.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
We are happy to suggest a wide selection of vendors and venues that have many years of expertise in customizing your wedding. However, we are also open to working with new vendors and venues of our couple’s choosing.

We have also been organizing styled shootings to inspire future couples. Our shootings have been published in German, English, Australian, and American wedding blogs.

In our podcast, we continuously welcome wedding vendors to discuss their ideas and products.
