Conversations with Frances Torres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frances Torres.

Frances, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
FRANCESMADEIT came about because I was looking for a hobby. I’m a girl living in a small town in SWFL. That’s when my sister introduced me to the Cricut world. From there my world of creating opened up. I did it for about a year for fun.

Then my hobby turned into printing and doing promotional products for others. I invested in other printers to help my business grow. The positive feedback from family and friends really motivated me to start my own business. So January 4, 2022, I took the leap of faith and started my own business.

My vision is for FRANCESMADEIT to be a platform that helps other small businesses by eventually investing in a venue where I can host small business shows and events without charging outrageous prices.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Running a business has been far from a smooth road.

But, it has truly been rewarding. The hardest part is educating myself on the how-tos. Also juggling being a full-time medical assistant, mom of 2, wife, and everything else I have that life throws at me.

I learned to surround myself around smart individuals and also not to be shy to ask questions. You have to be daring to be an entrepreneur. You have to want it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would like to call myself an artist. I have an eye for creativity. I like to express what I love and what interests me in my work. A lot of my products represent the musicians I love or foods I love to cook.

Small business. Big Heart is my mindset. I help other small businesses by providing discounted pricing for promotional products.

The difference between myself and others is the experience provided while shopping at FRANCESMADEIT and I am very proud of the quality of work and packaging that I provide for every order.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
To be an entrepreneur it entails taking risk. You have to believe in your business that you are willing to risk instant gratification for long term success. I have set my goal to work full time by 2023. I have cut back on major spending and readjusted my lifestyle. Putting aside instant gratification with the goal of someday only working for myself.
