Conversations with Fausto Gomez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fausto Gomez. 

Hi Fausto, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After 22 years of military service I retired, in 2009 I returned to the Dominican Republic, during my stay in the DR I was able to help my dad with our Tabacco productions, in 2015 my wife Martha our son Diego and I returned back to Tampa, on several occasions we visited markets and festivals around town and we noticed that no Cigars vendors were participating as a vendor, after all, Tampa has a very rich history about Cigars. So, we decided to start our own business participating as a hand-rolled cigar vendor. 

Our business started gowning very fast due to our dedication and efforts. 

Currently, we average about 15 events a month, not only in Florida but all over the east coast. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely Florida weather is a challenge, 2020 was also a difficult year for the entire world, but for the most part, we try to maintain a positive attitude, especially at events… 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Retired sergeant first class US Army with 22 years of military experience and 7 years of diplomatic experience with the US Embassy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Dedicated and focused administrator who excels at prioritizing, completing multiple tasks simultaneously, and following through to achieve project goals. Familiar with the process and policies of the Department of States, local Dominican government, and international consular and embassies procedures. Answers a high volume of incoming calls while handling in-person inquiries from applicants, clients, and colleagues. Excellent planning, organizing, and coordinating skills. Professional attitude to maintain confidentiality. Flexible and hardworking with strong drive to succeed. 

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Dedication, discipline, positive attitude, respect to others, religious believes.
