Check Out Shonique Jackson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shonique Jackson.

Hi Shonique, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hello my name is Lola Jackson CEO of P3rpUSLLC. My journey has been a long time coming. I started my interest in the music industry around 1994 (I was 14). My brother and cousins would record music and I gained interest on the production of basically wanting to know everything played together from the producer to the engineer and how the artists came up with lyrics. Moving forward I moved to Atlanta around 2003. Working my way around Atlanta I would visit different clubs, meet artist, managers DJ, etc. I was branding myself. I was able to connect with a lot of important people. Knowing that this was something I wanted to be a part of, so I learned the industry on my own. Whenever there was any type of music event I would go. My face became familiar with so many then I began to build relationships with different people in the industry. These people would tell their friends and that friend would tell another friend. I moved back home (Florida) and started the same process over again connecting with people throughout Florida branding myself. I would let people know that I’m independent, I have the ability to manage an artist (PR) public ate relations/A&R. My name became well-known artist reached out they seen my potential and the love have not stopped. Artist from everywhere has reached out Oregon, Florida, Wisconsin, Cali, etc. I’m just looking for an opportunity to work with a major record label being a female is the music industry is very hard. For one it’s cutthroat and two if you’re pretty in the industry men will definitely try you. I’m very strong and I stand my ground I guess that’s why it’s been a long 15yr process. I will never take the easy way out I know my worth. 2021 has been a good year for me things are starting to work in my favor. I have a couple artist wanting me to manage them however I have to choose wisely… So, if there are any other artist wanting to work, they can contact me on my personal IG page at Lolamonroe69 or my business page P3rpUS_LLC. Visit my business page at… I name my business p3rpUS (pronounce purpose) because everyone is a purpose in life and I want to know the story. So many artist tell their life stories while creating music. Music is an outlet. This is a passion of mine so I’m in it. So many artist are dealt bad deals and I’m basically teaching my artist the financial aspect of it first. What to be able to look for in contracts. Not too many managers are doing that. Also, how to market themselves and avoid debt. I just want to change the industry a little.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I have been called a groupie, guys in the industry have tried me, there has been a lot to deal with but I’m strong.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Basically, I call myself an independent A&R minus the label. I have an ear for talent and have came across so many talented people. Also, I’m in marketing, branding, promotion, bottle service the list goes on. I’m most proud of being able to get my name out there without having a team. It’s just me. Hard work and dedication. No handouts at all… What sets me apart from others is the I’m driven no obstacle can get in the way of my passion. I doing things differently by educating my artist first.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality I feel that’s most important to my success is that I stood my ground I didn’t let things persuade me to Get it the easy way. That what makes me so proud and separate me from many
