Hi Rene, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out in the Plastic Surgery World in late 2004 as a Surgical technologist/medical assistant for a group of three amazing plastic surgeons. It was love at first sight! I continued my education and explored other areas of healthcare such as ER, home health, and wound care. I then went on to complete a master’s program and became certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. I started my own LLC in 2016 more for fun and because quite honestly, well, we were all getting a little bit older. My little business continued to grow through word of mouth and minimal marketing until I was able to put 100% effort towards my company and leave internal medicine altogether in the third quarter of 2021.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m chuckling to myself about this one! No, definitely not smooth. I am proud to say I am almost a 16 years breast cancer survivor. I underwent double mastectomies and chemotherapy during this journey. I can tell you 100% I would not change a thing and it surely propelled my life and career in a positive direction. I also used this “side hustle” to help support my two children as a single mother and eventually take care of my father until his recent passing in November. I worked three jobs most of the time from 2012 until February of this year. The later effects of chemotherapy have also caused other health-related issues including, most recently, a heart attack at age 45. But Hey, I’m here and loving every single second!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in aesthetics and wellness. I offer a full line of neurotoxins, fillers, PRP, PDO threads, biodentical hormone replacement therapy, and weight loss. I am known as “The Botox Girl”, by most. I am most proud of my vast knowledge base and creativity for problem-solving. I believe what sets me apart from others is my passion and experience. I have learned and observed more than most in my field. I am honored by this, I feel that it helps my clients receive exceptional outcomes tailored to their unique desires and expectations.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Now, that is a tough one! I feel like I am pretty much an open book, lol. I actually just asked my husband and he’s still laughing. I do not mind being very open about my life with my clients and friends. I do not live in the past and believe it has all propelled me to exactly where I need to be right now. I embrace the present and welcome the future. I have an amazing group of friends and family that love me for the ball of energy that I am! I am a lucky lady for sure.
