Check Out Justin Kucsulain’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Kucsulain. 

Hi Justin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It begins with Martial arts. I first moved to Lakeland, Florida at 22 years old from Detroit, Michigan. I got a job wiring houses with AEI electrical and started training at Champions Mixed Martial Arts. In less than a year, I had quit my job and started training and working at the dojo all day every day, I was hooked. 

In addition to competing in both MMA and BJJ competitions, I was also lifting weights and working out every day at All American Gym in Lakeland, Florida. I was bartender and a trainer at Title Boxing in Carrollwood teaching boxing classes. 

I ended up moving back to Michigan briefly then LA for 2 years where I taught private boxing lessons at Mayweather Boxing in Hollywood. Life has brought me back to Tampa Bay, I reside in St Petersburg and I love it. I’m only 5 minutes from the beach and it can’t get any better. 

I started Action Figure Gym as a way to do what I love while helping others achieve their fitness goals and get Strong AF. I specialize in concierge boxing service. I bring the motivation and a little bit of equipment and you bring your boxing gloves. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far so good. It’s been smooth sailing. I’m not doing any advertising aside from posting on social media and most of my clientele has come from word of mouth. St. Pete/Tampa is a tight community and when you do a great job people talk about it. I feel that is what’s happening with Action Figure Gym, people are getting everything they were looking for in a workout and then tell their friends. I’m extremely grateful for every client I have. 

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I own and operate a concierge boxing service. I come to the home with hand mitts, Thai pads, and a floor mat. We cover boxing and kickboxing fundamentals. I customize the 30 to 60-minute sessions to best suit the client’s level of ability. From there, we work together building the skills, knowledge, and confidence to further progress into the program. Some advanced clients burn 1000 calories in 60 minutes, some are just starting out and want to learn the basics. In summary, this workout improves coordination, balance, cardiovascular ability all while learning practical self-defense, It’s a total mind/body workout. I also have a facility in St Pete where I offer weightlifting and strength training programs customized to the client’s ability.
